Illinois LSAMP Symposium |
Date |
Feb 28 & March 1 2025 |
Location |
Doubletree by Hilton 3003 Corporate West Drive Lisle, IL |
The annual conference is an activity within a suite of activities carried out by the
Alliance aimed at meeting the professional development needs of ILSAMP students. The conference is aimed at supporting the growth and developmental needs of URM students
in STEM.
The conference includes
- Poster presentations
- Keynote
- Breakout sessions
- Workshops covering subjects identified by the Alliance Partner Coordinators
The structure and design of the conference is also aimed at preparing students for
national and international conferences by offering opportunities to interact with
peers and professors so they begin building personal STEM networks. Another major advantage of the conference is that it offers the opportunity for professional
development to STEM faculty members at the alliance partner institutions on LSAMP
best practices such as the facets of a culturally responsive learning environment.
